1. Who we are
Going Nowhere Studio, LLC ("Going Nowhere Studio", "we", "us") is a Florida limited liability company. We make films, games and AI-powered projects, and we develop and publish the video game Thrill of the Chase.
2. What this policy covers
This policy explains what information is collected when you visit this website or play Thrill of the Chase, how it is used and what choices you have. Our YouTube channel and any store pages for our games are run by those platforms, and their own privacy policies apply there.
3. This website
- We don't use accounts, sign-up forms, cookies, advertising or analytics on this website.
- This website is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify records basic technical information when pages are requested, such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request, to deliver the site and keep it secure (see the Netlify Privacy Statement). We don't use that information to identify you.
- If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write, and we use it only to reply.
- Links to other sites, such as YouTube or Epic Games, take you to services with their own privacy policies.
4. Thrill of the Chase
Playing offline
Split screen, practice and matches against NPCs run entirely on your PC. The game saves your settings (graphics, audio, controls and match rules) and log files on your computer. Nothing is sent to us.
Playing online
Online play uses Epic Online Services (EOS), provided by Epic Games, Inc. When you choose to play online:
- Sign-in. You sign in with your Epic Games account through Epic's own sign-in page. We never see your password. The game receives your Epic account ID and your display name.
- Friends and invites. With your permission at sign-in, the game reads your Epic friends list so you can invite friends and join their games, and it shares your online status ("in a game") so your friends can join you.
- Lobbies. When you host or join a game, Epic's lobby service holds the game's details while it is open: the players' display names, their places, car colors, teams, ready status and the game version.
- The connection between players. Online games are hosted on one player's PC. The other players' PCs connect to it, directly or through Epic's relay service, and exchange game data such as car positions. As with any online game, the connected PCs exchange technical information including IP addresses.
- Voice chat. When voice chat is on in an online game, the sound from your microphone is sent live, through Epic's voice service, to the other players in that game. We don't record or store voice chat. You can mute other players or turn voice chat off.
What the game doesn't do
- It doesn't show ads or use advertising IDs.
- It doesn't send us analytics or gameplay tracking.
- It doesn't access your contacts, camera, location or files outside the game's own folders.
5. Epic Games and stores
Epic Games handles your Epic account, sign-in, friends, online status, lobbies, relay connections and voice chat under its own privacy policy: Epic Games Privacy Policy. If you get the game from a store such as Steam, that store handles your purchase and store account under its own policy, for example the Valve Privacy Policy.
6. Who sees your information
- Other players in your online games see your display name, car and place, and hear you if voice chat is on.
- Epic Games provides the online services described above.
- Netlify, our website host, processes basic request data to serve this site.
- We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
7. How long information is kept
We don't run our own player database. Lobby details exist only while an online game is open. Settings and log files stay on your PC until you delete them or uninstall the game. Emails you send us are kept only as long as we need them to reply and follow up. Epic keeps account information according to its own policy.
8. Children
Our website and games are not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. Online play requires an Epic Games account, which is subject to Epic's age requirements and parental controls. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your choices and rights
- Play offline, and nothing leaves your PC.
- Remove the game's access to your Epic account at any time in your Epic account settings.
- Mute players or turn voice chat off.
- Manage or delete your Epic account data with Epic Games.
- Ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor requests as the law requires.
10. Security
We collect as little as possible, which keeps the risk small. Online services are provided by Epic Games over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your Epic account protected with a strong password and two-factor authentication.
11. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the website or our games change how they handle information, for example when new online features are added. The effective date at the top shows the latest version.
